What machine is used in dry granulation?
The main equipment used for dry powder fertilizer granulating is double roller extrusion granulator and flat die extrusion granulator. As their names suggested, they turn fertilizer material into pellets mainly by extruding. So the granulation process needn’t use any additives, raw materials are directly extruded into balls. Then what’s the difference between these two dry powder granulator machines?
1. Double roller granulator
Double roller extrusion granulating machine is the best-sale dry granulation equipment in SX. It can granulate many kinds of fertilizer materials, like sulphur, limestone, organic fertilizer dry powder, etc; the pellets strength can be adjusted freely according to different materials. It’s capacity is about 1-2t/h. It’s truly that the roller granulator is more suitable for small scale compound fertilizer production lines. 2. Flat die granulator
The biggest difference between these two dry granulation equipment is the flat die granulator is suitable for making organic fertilizer. For example, you can use it for granulating dry poultry manure, making fertilizer granules from dry animal wastes, etc. In addition, the final organic fertilizer pellets are cylindrical with diameter between 3mm and 8mm. With suitable hardness and compact structure, they are not easy to be affected by water, even in rainy area, the granules produced by our dry flat die organic fertilizer granulator can work well.

How does the machine of dry granulation work?
As dry granulation machine, both of these two fertilizer granulators make fertilizer granules by extruding. But in fact, it’s quite different about their working principle. So how does each dry granulation machine work?
For double roller granulator, the dry powdery fertilizer materials will be extruded into fine hardness pellets by the two roller sheets. Add the materials through feeding hopper, by opposite rollers extruding, the fertilizer materials can be demoulded and pelletized, and then fall into the crushing chamber. At the same time, the crushing chain in the machine separates the granular but adhesive particles. If you want to make granular fertilizer with certain sizes, our engineer can design the ball socket size according to your requirements. By this way, you can get fertilizer balls with the size from 4 to 10 mm.
Without two roller sheets, the flat die granulator makes fertilizer pellets by the extrusion between roller sheet and granulating mold. Fertilizer materials can be make into long cylindrical pellets. Cut by shearing knives inner the granulator, you can get ideal organic fertilizer granules. More importantly, choosing this granulator, you can also get spherical fertilizer granules. After granulating, you can use a polishing machine. The polishing machine is used for making fertilizer granules more uniform and rounder. It also can make the cylindrical fertilizers into round balls. By this way, the cost of making fertilizer balls is much lower than other granulator.

How to choose a suitable equipment for yourself?
1.Based on your raw materials moisture
The dry granulation equipment is suitble for compound fertilizer making plant, and also can be used in some organic fertilizer manufacturing plant. But only of the organic fertilizer raw material moisture is under 10%. If the moisture of your fertilizer material is higher than 10%, we can provide the matched drying machine to help you reduce the moisture content. If your fertilizer material is too dry, we can also equip a spray system for you.
2.What capacities do you need?
Capacity and power are the basis of choosing granulation equipment. As for our roller dry granulator, there are 3 types can be your choices. The first one is 1t/h, it costs 15kw/h. The second one is 1.5t/h, it costs 18.5kw/h. And the last one is 2t/h, it costs 22kw/h. If you care more about energy consumption, the SXDG-1T is suitable for you. Its volume is not very big, it greatly matches with small scale fertilizer making factory. If you have many dry fertilizer material and want to granulate them as soon as possible, you can choose the third one. Its capacity is the largest and the power consumption is acceptable.
3. How to get a customized one?
